My
Daddy is a Cabinetmaker (Labor of Love)
Written
by Ronnie Samoset & Teresa
My Daddy
Is A Cabinetmaker
I see his soul in this old oak table
I’m so glad that we were able to build it together
He would smile when I would ask him
How a simple sketch on a paper napkin
Could come to life from a piece of aspen
And his two hands, And he said,
Chorus:
“Time and a patient heart is where every master starts
And you can master anything if you work hard
You’ve got to want it bad enough
That you can feel it in your blood
And when the feeling’s right,
The work becomes a Labor Of Love.”
Pencil,
paper and guitar
I use to say what’s in my heart
Ain’t it funny to think that they are all made of wood
Oh and, sometimes I stay up all night
Write a song by fire light
When I finally get it right
I think of what my daddy told me
(Repeat
Chorus)
Even
though I’m far away, I can hear my daddy say
“My little girl work hard ‘til it becomes a labor of...”
My Daddy
Is A Cabinetmaker
I see his soul in this old oak table
I’m so glad that we were able to build it together.
