The
Little Girl in Me
Written
by Keith Hinton & Teresa
I remember
the way we used to play
On the swing-set in the second grade
We flew so high we’d touch the sky, too young to be afraid
We built our magic castles in a box of golden sand
But the girl grew up fell in love and the boy became a man
Chorus:
So we put away all our childish ways
Like all good grownups should
We traded in our innocence for the sake of our own good
But promise me you won’t forget no matter what you do
The little girl in me loves the little boy in you
Now we
spend our days running in this race
In a mad rush to claim the prize
And at night we try to remember why it was worth all the sacrifice
They say happy ever after is only true in make pretend
But I know there’s still time for Jack and Jill to go up that
hill again
Chorus:
So we’ll put away all our childish ways
Like all good grownups should
We’ll trade in our innocence for the sake of our own good
But promise me you won’t forget no matter what you do
The little girl in me loves the little boy in you
(Solo)
(Repeat Chorus)
